[The video opens on America's legs. He's rolled up his pant legs and is sitting at the edge of the lake on Route 30, dangling his feet in the water. A sleeping hoppip rests on his knees.]

I'm kind of worried about Pinky you guys. [He turns the 'gear around to focus on his face, with Liberty on his shoulder as usual.] She's level 5 already and she still can't do any attacks. D'you think it's cause it's so hot maybe? Like, is she wilting or something? I keep givin' her berries and makin' sure she has enough water an' all. She seems happy and everything, I mean... but she just sorta flops around. Like a magikarp.

...Maybe she'll evolve into something really cool? But man, she's so cute. [He turns the camera to show the hoppip again, reaching down to skritch the base of her leaves.] I kinda don't want her ending up some freaky monster thing.

Ah, every pokémon is different with when they learn things or if they even learn them at all. My Delibird, Arcturus, only has one attack, and half the time it heals and half the time it does damage.

"Dumb"... isn't the word I'd use.

There are other ways for a pokémon to learn a move, thankfully, or poor Arcturus would have a hard time in a fight. You might want to give yours a little more time, though. Has it been learning any moves at all?

Well she can heal herself a little, but she doesn't battle much, y'know, obviously, so that's really all there is.

Give her time. I'm sure she'll learn something.

She can always share battles with other members of your team if you're worried about her getting hurt.

Yeah, they kinda take care of her. Otherwise she'd never level up at all!

Mine are the same way with Arcturus. I did manage to teach him some TM moves though, so he's got more than the one attack if he needs it.

You can buy them from the Goldenrod Department Store, but they're fairly pricey. Gym leaders will sometimes give them out as prizes too.

Ah... I don't really have a lot of cash. And I don't think my guys are ready to take on gyms yet.

All things in due time, of course. Shopkeepers in the various towns will usually hire travelers for part-time jobs if you want to get your funds up, though.
