[The video opens on America's legs. He's rolled up his pant legs and is sitting at the edge of the lake on Route 30, dangling his feet in the water. A sleeping hoppip rests on his knees.]

I'm kind of worried about Pinky you guys. [He turns the 'gear around to focus on his face, with Liberty on his shoulder as usual.] She's level 5 already and she still can't do any attacks. D'you think it's cause it's so hot maybe? Like, is she wilting or something? I keep givin' her berries and makin' sure she has enough water an' all. She seems happy and everything, I mean... but she just sorta flops around. Like a magikarp.

...Maybe she'll evolve into something really cool? But man, she's so cute. [He turns the camera to show the hoppip again, reaching down to skritch the base of her leaves.] I kinda don't want her ending up some freaky monster thing.

So — Johto? I haven't been there in a while. That's near... Cherrygrove?

I haven't been here too long, I'm still workin' on gettin' into the cities.

It takes some time, on foot. I think it must be worth it, though — I kinda skipped all that. I'd love to travel around someday, though.

So when'd you get here?

Little over a week ago I guess. But you can't really train your pokemon if you're not on the routes, right?

How'd you manage to skip it even?

I got lucky — some friends from home were already in town. And that's not totally true, about training! Once your team is big enough and some of your pokemon experienced enough, you can sometimes coax 'em into training each other without realizing.

[A pause, followed by a sheepish smile.]

But you might need more than a week for that.
